I will like to express my gratitude to all the people of New Life Ayahusca. I when to a ceremony with Matt and Jeanae last Saturday and I am very impress with their heart and everything they did in the ceremony. Not only they were checking on me all the time but also they are people with a genuine purpose of helping others to get heal. The ceremony had everything; the setting was perfectly care for. I want to congratulate them for running such of wonderful place. I would recommend it to anyone. I also like to send a special thanks to Sergio and Emanuel for always checking on me and for helping me throughout the ceremony. I will be coming back for more ceremonies with the confidence that I am on a safe environment. I wish you many blessings, success and prosperity in the years to come.  Thank you so much for everything!

Wonderful people and a wonderful vision

New Life is located outside Sam Ramon, Costa Rica. The property and facility is absolutely gorgeous and and view of the Gulf of Nicoya from their location on top of the mountain make this a beautiful and perfect place for the work they are doing.  I was passing through the area coming from San Jose to Playa Samara and just had to stop in and meet the people there and find out what they were doing. San Ramon is only a couple of hours from San Jose, less if you have a car and a little more if using the bus system.  My background is not only corporate I.T. (stressful) but also I am a RYT Yoga Teacher and I've been interested for a number of years in how things such as yoga, meditation, diet, mentors, and support systems help with our first world high stress jobs.  Jeanae and Matt are wonderful people. They have such a strong sense of purpose, a mission, and empathy. Where they come from and where they are going is wonderful and they are making the world better in a very great way. They only want to share and help other people. They know the value of moments that can turn a life around and understand sometimes it takes a great deal of work to help a person get just one step further to being better, happier, or perhaps even just alive.  The facility is as clean and full of creature comforts anyone might want or need. No matter where you come from rich or poor, first world or jungle, this place is comfortable. The region is mountainous with dirt roads leading to it as it should be for the region. The house, the pool area (yes, indoor lap pool in Costa Rica) and the location are really just perfect for a retreat location.  I can only imagine all the clients coming from a wide range of cultures and countries, with needs stemming from depression and stress to drug or substance abuse that may find this place and the people there to be a very important part of their journey to wellness.

Sacred Medicine

The Healing Power of Plants

sacred medicineEver since the dawn of mankind, humans have used sacred medicine and plants for healing of the mind, body and spirit. The use of plants as medicine predates written history, but in written record, the use of herbs dates back 5,000 years. The Sumerians had written record of plants and their uses, and the Egyptians had an extensive list of over 800 recorded plant medicines. Many ancient cultures who practiced the art of healing with plants had members of the village who were known as medicine men or shaman. Many shaman believe that each plant has a unique spirit that can be communicated with. At New Life Ayahuasca, we believe this to be true. Through our work with both iboga(ine) and ayahuasca we have felt the presence and personality of both their spirits and we have seen what incredible potential both of these unique plant medicines are capable of.

Both ibogaine and ayahuasca have been used in ceremonial settings in their respective native origins for centuries, if not longer. Each plant medicine has a set of traditions and ceremonial practices that surround their use. At New Life Ayahuasca, we strive to respect these traditions and proved as authentic an environment as possible when consuming these medicines. Learn more about the similarities and differences of ibogaine and ayahuasca.

Kambo is different from both ibogaine and ayahuasca in that it is not plant-based and it is not psychedelic, but it is another sacred medicine that has been used for thousands of years by the indigenous people of the Amazon and has its own incredible healing potential.

Ayahuasca Vs. Iboga

Ayahusaca

Ayahuasca is a brew whose use originated in the Amazon, specifically Peru. Ayahuasca is consumed in a ceremonial setting, guided by a shaman. Each part of the ceremony has a specific purpose and aids in the spiritual journey. When consumed, ayahuasca produces both open and closed eyed visions usually pertaining to nature and the meaning of life. There is a diet associated with ayahuasca that is implemented to show respect for the medicine and spiritual process. Ayahuasca is used to aid in healing both physical and psychological disorders gaining recognition through out the West in treating depression, addiction and PTSD.

Iboga

Iboga is a psychedelic derived from the root of the Tabernathe Iboga shrub. It is used as a sacrament by practitioners of Bwiti, a spiritual tradition originating in West Africa. Iboga is used as a rite of passage into adult hood and for communication with ancestors. Iboga, or more specifically, the derivative ibogaine, has more recently been praised for its ability to alleviate withdrawal symptoms from opiates and healing of the brain. This powerful plant medicine has since been gaining popularity in the West for its abilities in treating drug addiction and other conditions of the mind such as anxiety, depression and PTSD. It is traditionally consumed in a ceremonial setting but many ibogaine clinics do not implement these ceremonies or spiritual traditions. New Life Iboga feels the best way to experience iboga(ine) is by incorporating Bwiti traditions and ceremonies that have traditionally surrounded the use of iboga(ine) for hundreds of years.
